2023 E. King Gill Award Recipients

Anne & David Dunlap '83

The 12th Man Foundation is proud to honor Anne and David Dunlap '83 for their extraordinary support of Texas A&M Athletics with the 2023 E. King Gill Award.

Anne and David have generously contributed to multiple capital projects for Texas A&M Athletics including the recently completed Centennial Campaign as well as a lead gift for the historic redevelopment of Kyle Field.

Additionally, the Dunlaps have invested their time and experience with David volunteering his service as a member of the 12th Man Foundation Board of Trustees from 2015 to 2021. David's steady leadership as chair of the Board of Trustees in 2020 helped the 12th Man Foundation successfully navigate one of the most challenging years in the organization's history.

David, a petroleum engineering graduate, followed a family legacy at Texas A&M as a Ross Volunteer and a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Anne, a 1984 Tulane graduate, fell in love with Texas A&M after attending Midnight Yell for the first time and has been supporting the Aggies ever since.

Over the past 40 years, Anne and David have raised six children including four Aggie grads and have embodied Texas A&M's core values while supporting their university and their community.

“Anne and David Dunlap represent the best of Texas A&M,” 12th Man Foundation President and CEO Travis Dabney said. “Their servant leadership to our institution is so appreciated by all of us, and we are a better organization because of them.”

The Dunlaps' generosity extends across Texas A&M University's campus. Dunlap Drill Field is named in the couple's honor due to their gift toward the construction of the John D. White '70 - Robert L. Walker '58 Music Activities Center. A perfect one-to-one replica of Kyle Field, Dunlap Drill Field serves as the practice drill field for the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.

David is a longtime member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association and has served on the President's Board of Visitors for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, the College of Engineering Advisory Council and the Department of Petroleum Engineering Industry Board. Additionally, David currently serves on the Texas A&M Foundation Board of Trustees.

In 2017, David was inducted into the A&M Petroleum Engineering Academy of Distinguished Graduates, and in 2018, he was inducted into the Corps Hall of Honor.

The couple was formally recognized on Kyle Field during the Texas A&M-Mississippi State game on Nov. 11 and will be featured in an issue of 12th Man Magazine.

“Anne and David Dunlap represent the best of Texas A&M. Their servant leadership to our institution is so appreciated by all of us, and we are a better organization because of them.”
